So The Bears Went From Having No Coaches To 3 Pretty Good Ones Rather Quickly
So it was announced last night that Adam Gase, man of Peyton Manning fame, will be the Bears new Offensive Coordinator. Gase supposedly made it all the way to the final interview for the 49ers Head Job before mysteriously blowing it, which is equally as strange considering who they hired in his place. Either way, this is all great news. One, because it means Charlie Weis, yes Charlie Weis the guy who spent his final year at Kansas falling asleep in meetings, will not be coming to Halas Hall and 2) The Bears are now set for their key coaching positions.
Now I’m not going to do what everyone thinks I’m going to do and freak out over hiring what seems to be 3 very good coaches that were all highly sought after. I learned my lesson with Trestman and Emery. Instead I’ll say this, everything seems stable. And that’s all we can ask for right now, stability. I want a Defense that doesn’t suck, I want an Offensive Coordinator who will run the ball and play to the Quarterback’s strengths (move the pocket maybe one time?), and a Head Coach who can keep it all together. It seems like that is what the Bears have and I for one am quietly pleased. I’m not going to get ahead of myself, the roster still has significant flaws, but I’ll sit in the corner softly clapping at everything Ryan Pace has done thus far, I’m impressed, the pieces are being put back together.
